1) What should I expect out of each paper?
Reading:
- Consists of 3 or 4 passages with 40 questions
- difficulty increases after each passage
- Duration: 60 minutes
Writing:
- Consists of writing task 1 & 2
- Task 1 requires you to write a summary on a graph, table, chart, or process diagram (Academic paper) or to write a letter (General paper).
- Task 2 requires you to write 250 words on a given topic.
- Duration: 60 minutes
Listening:
- Consists of 4 sections with 10 questions for each section.
- Duration: 30 minutes
Speaking:
- Consists of 3 parts
- Face-to-face interview with an examiner
- Duration: 11 - 14 minutes
2) Do I take all parts of the test on the same day?
The Listening, Reading and Writing components of the test are always completed immediately after each other and with no break. Depending on the test centre, you may also sit the Speaking test on the same day.
